BATES, Larry Edwin Hugh  - January 21, 1957 - June 13, 2018

After a year-long battle with pancreatic cancer, Larry peacefully passed away in the comfort of his beloved wife Lorraine.

Loving father of Michael (Beverley) and Laura (Ken).

Grandfather of Caden and Rylie, son of Hugh (Carolyn Noble) and Beverley (predeceased), brother of Jim (Deborah), son-in-law of Jean and Gordon (predeceased), brother-in-law of Wendy (Michael), uncle of Kyra, Greer (predeceased), Aidan and Kyle. He will be sadly missed by all his family including uncles, aunts, cousins and his many, many friends.

Larry was a sheet metal worker (Local Union 30) for most of his life, but his true joy was his incredible passion for music and enjoyed sharing his encyclopedic knowledge of it with everyone.

His humour was a defining feature that brought happiness to all who knew him. He had a deep love for everyone in his life and was grateful to those who were with him throughout his battle with cancer. "We're all stories in the end.

Make it a good one." And he certainly did. May his music, laughter and love for life live on with us forever.

A private memorial service will be held for family and friends.

Donations can be made in his memory to Diabetes Canada and Dorothy Ley Hospice.
