McMECHAN, Alan Francis - Born December 26, 1936 in Belfast, Northern Ireland Suddenly, on June 14, 2018 at Brampton Civic Hospital, surrounded by his caring family.
Survived by Maureen, his loving wife of 60 years.
Father of Richard (Barb), David (Shelley), Ruth (Leo) and grandfather of Robert, Laura, Nolan, Owen, Rory and Patrick.
He will be greatly missed by his family here and the extended family in Northern Ireland and New Zealand.
The family would like to thank and acknowledge Alan's caregivers at Brampton Civic Hospital and Greenway Retirement. Alan worked for 30 years as Chief Materials Process Engineer at McDonnell Douglas/Boeing Canada.
At Alan's request, no formal ceremony will take place. All are invited and encouraged to gather for A Celebration of Life at 2 p.m. at Greenway Retirement home on Monday, June 25 2018, 100 Ken Whillans Drive, Brampton, ON.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society of Canada, the Heart & Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
