LACHS, Tekla (nee PIZICS)  - Born July 24, 1925 in Rezekne, Latvia.

Died July 23, 2018 at Matthews House Hospice in Alliston, ON.

Predeceased by her husband, Julijs (Julius) Lachs, in 1999.

Sadly missed by her two children Edna Sears (Gordon) of Caledon, and Julius Lachs (Heather) of Everett.

Loving Oma to Connor and Tyra Lachs. Tekla lived in Albion Township and Bolton from 1968 to 2006. In 2006 she moved to Alliston, where she lived independently until 2018. Tekla was creative, loving, independent, strong willed, sometimes silly, and always the life of the party.

Unfortunately her bright light was extinguished by a stroke. Her family will forever be grateful to the wonderful staff and loving environment of Matthews House Hospice in Alliston for making her last days dignified and peaceful.

Visitation will be held at Egan Funeral Home, Bolton, on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 from 1 p.m. until the time of the funeral service in the chapel at 2 p.m. Immediately following the service, a celebration of Tekla's life will be held at Glen Eagle Golf Club, 15731 Regional Road 50, Caledon.

Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to join the family prior to the visitation at 10:30 in the morning on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at York Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Matthews House Hospice.
