WHELAN, Mary Theresa (nee SMITH) - Passed away after a brief illness on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at Humber River Hospital, in her 86th year.
Predeceased by her husband Bill.
She is survived by her daughter Colleen (Nathalie) and son Sean (Amanda).
She is survived by her brothers Jack Smith (Marlene), Ron Smith (Gloria) and Tom Smith (Kathy) and her brother-in-law Tony. She was predeceased by her sisters Jean Figueroa, Gerry Smith and Sharon Surette. She enjoyed knitting, travelling and preparing food for others throughout her life.
Mary will be remembered for her fiercely independent and tenacious nature.
A Visitation will be held at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home, Toronto, on Sunday, July 29th from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church, 75 Churchill Ave., North York on Monday, July 30th at 10:30 a.m. A Private Interment will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to North York General Hospital, Humber River Hospital - Critical Care Unit, or a charity of your choice.
