DENNIS, Rita Nancy Marie Dennis  -

Rita Nancy Marie Solomon (nee Dennis) passed away peacefully on the morning of February 21st 2023.

Rita took care of so many in her family and community and was well lovedby all of us.

Born on May 2 1924 in Killarney Ontario she made her way to Toronto where she met and married Michael Dennis in the summer of 1946.  She raised her family in the city and was an active member of the Corpus Christi Church on Lockwood Road, here she could be heard signing in the choir and her artistry could be seen hanging on display. Rita was a talented seamstress with her operation running out of the upstairs of her family home on Kingston Road.

After almost 65 years of marriage she sadly said goodbye to her husband Michael in 2011.She also lost her son Robert in 2011 (survived by his wife Barb) and granddaughter Thara in 2017.

Rita leaves behind her loving children Paul (wife Gloria), Kathryn (husband Alfred), William, Richard (wife Petra), and Lorna. Her grandchildren, Elishia(husband Scott) and Joshua (wife Michelle) and great grandchildren Zachary, Samuel, Jesslyn, Ella, Ava and Kate.

The family is planning for a service and celebration of Rita's life in the spring at Corpus Christi Church in Toronto. As soon as details are finalized they will be shared with her family and loved ones.

The world lost an amazing woman this week and those of us who knew her all feel so lucky to have had her as part of our lives.

"The greatest thing you'll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return.” Eden Ahbez.
