SCHUCH, Lidka Maria (Blazej)  -

July 16, 1957 - June 14th, 2023

On June 14, 2023, Lidka Schuch, 65, of Beaverton, Ontario, passed away peacefully after a short illness.

She is survived by the loves of her life, long-term partner, Honza (Jan) Cipra, her feline companions Toffee and Pooshek, her family members Aneta, Malgosia and Pawel in Poland, and many dear friends near and far.

Lidka was a creative, passionate, seeker of truth with an amazing spirit. A force to be reckoned with in all her pursuits, as an outstanding artist and teacher, imaginative photographer, top chef and fierce social commentator.

A native of Poland, she immigrated to Canada in 1982, and quickly became a part of the art scene in Toronto and later in Halifax opening Fashion Art, creating inspired, one-of-a-kind wearable art for an audience of enthusiastic fashionistas.

She became a recognized computer graphics educator and launched her own school, Studio L. This led to a long career at George Brown College, where she taught and mentored young and upcoming graphic designers.

After living many years in Toronto, she began to long for peace and quiet and open spaces. And so began the search for a new location. In 2007 she discovered Beaverton and moved there the same year with her partner Honza.

Gone, but not forgotten, may she rest in peace.

A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.

Should you wish, please make a gift to Orillia Soldier's Memorial Hospital in her honour.

Donations would be greatly appreciated. The staff at the ICU were amazing.
