TARLING, Kenneth 'Ken' Edward   -

May 16, 1958 - October 2, 2023

It is with heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Ken at home surrounded by his family.

Ken was a loving husband to his wife, of 36 years, Tina, proud & devoted father to Lindsey and Kevin and cherished grandfather to Brooklynn.

Survived by his parents Walter & Irene Tarling.

Brother to Kathy Dawson (Mark) & Sue Nadeau (Ken). Brother-in-law to Sharon Frydendahl (Peter) & Sandra van den Bogerd (Michael) and his many nephews and nieces to whom he loved dearly.

Ken was a passionate family man and he loved working in his yard in his free time. Ken lived his life doing what he loved, playing and teaching golf.

Ken was a worldly man, having travelled all over professionally playing the game he loved, golf. Ken was instrumental in reviving the Canadian Tour in the early 1980’s and served as the President of the Canadian Tour for three years and was a member of the PGA of Canada Board of Directors.

Ken started his playing career in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa. Ken had a high level of personal achievement as a Tour Professional, Instructor and Club Professional.

Ken was a true athlete and thrived at any sport he picked up. Ken will be missed by all who knew him. He will be forever in our hearts.

The family would like to thank the amazing palliative care team, especially Dr. Spencer Chau and Ken’s nurse Brie, for all their care and compassion while he was home.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Low & Low Funeral Home, 23 Main Street South, Uxbridge on Wednesday, October 11 at 1:00 pm, with visitation held an hour prior at 12 noon. Reception to follow immediately after the service.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
