ROSAMOND, Lorne Gary Rosamond  -  59 of Newcastle passed away peacefully at Toronto General Hospital on Tuesday October 3, 2023 surrounded by family.

Lorne was born in Oshawa Ontario on March 8, 1964.

Lorne began his career working at the Chrysler Canada Ajax Trim plant before moving on to other automotive industry supply plants, after which he finally settled his career as a heavy equipment mechanic at Hutton Transport in Bowmanville.

Lorne’s time spent at the arena continued after his boys reached the age to carry the torch for the family’s love of hockey. He coached and supported his sons in anyway he could, as they, like their father became lifelong fans of the Maple Leaf’s.

Lorne is survived by his loving wife of 28 years Lori, whom he married February 18th, 1995, from that point forward they were inseparable. He also leaves behind his two loving boys Nicholas and Matthew who continue Lorne’s legacy of a love for hunting, nature, and the outdoors.

In addition, Lorne is also survived by his mother Donna, brothers Allan and Terry and sister Teresa (Steve); mother in-law Jeanne Stere, brother in-laws Greg (Nancy), Roger (Laura), Darryl (Susie); nieces and nephews, Jeffery, Alison (Ryan), Dylan (Taylor), Jacob, Hayley (Matt), Jordan (Claire), Michael (Kyra).

He also leaves behind several aunts, uncles, and cousins, who are too numerous to list. Lorne is predeceased by his father Lorne Rosamond and father in-law Wayne Stere and many other extended family members that have passed before him.

Lorne will be remembered during a private family service held Thursday October 12, 2023 at Newcastle Funeral Home.
