MITAR, Mate - Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at the Joseph Brant Hospital in his 73rd year.
Mate beloved husband of 43 years to Iva Mitar, cherished father of Ankica Anita (Dragan Pejic), Ljilja (The late Drago Klobucar) and Anda Angie (Dubravko Majkic).
Loving Dida of 12 grandchildren, Sabrina and Dominic Majkic, Filip, Magdalena, Ivan, Josip, and Matej Pejic, Gabrijela, Matea, Ana, Emma and Ivana Klobucar, and great Dida to grandson Jan Klobucar.
Mate will be forever remembered by his nephews and their families here with us in Canada Darko Pavletic, Sveta, Ivica, Veljko and Peter Bago, and by his many family members and friends in Croatia and Herzegovina.
Many thanks to the staff at Joseph Brant Hospital for their care and compassion, as well as to our family, friends and our Croatian community at Queen of Peace, Norval.
Friends will be received at J.S. Jones & Son Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Road, Georgetown on Monday, September 3rd from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Prayers to be held at 8:00 p.m.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the Queen of Peace Croatian Church, 9118 Winston Churchill Blvd, Norval. Mate will be welcomed home in Croatia to be laid to rest.
We ask that in place of flowers donations will be accepted for both of his parishes in Norval and in Posusje his home town.
