BROUGHTON, Joan Marie - After a beautiful life filled with love, music and laughter Joan passed away peacefully in Meaford, Ontario, on December 13, 2018.
Joan was born in Lance Cove on Bell Island, Newfoundland.
She was the youngest daughter of Mary and Patrick Kent, cherished sister to Gordon (Catherine), Bob (Kate), Don (Ursula), Myles (Carol) and Marguerite White. (Doug).
Beloved wife to her soulmate, Joan married the love of her life, Lynn.
Adored mother of son Colin (Sheryl) and daughter JoAnne (Steve), Joan both fiercely loved and protected her children with an unbelievable passion, kindness and generosity. She taught them unconditional love and how to put family above all else. As long as you did not sit on her 'good' couch.
She treasured and spoiled Emily, Hailey (Arvin), Jacob, Devon, Camryn and Jackson. It would be unheard of if the kids left Nanny's house empty handed. "They are taking it home, I told them they could have it." Her grandchildren were everything to Joan.
Cremation has taken place. There will be a private family service to celebrate the life of this beautiful woman.
