Caldwell DonCALDWELL, W. Don  - At St. Peter's Hospital in Hamilton, with his loving wife Aldona by his side, Don passed away on January 17, 2019.

Born in Halifax on September 13, 1936 to Ronald and Carrie Caldwell.

Predeceased by his first wife Daphne (nee Dawe) and sister Carolyn. Dear father of Bonnie (Iain) of Charlottetown and Bobby of Oakville.

Cherished grandfather of Emma, Jack and Quinn.

Sadly missed by brother David (Sylvia), brother-in-law Peter Delefes, daughter-in-law Jen, and sisters-in-law Paula McGuire and Diane Armstrong (Russ).

Don will be fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews: Daphne (Jeff) and son Ben, John, Michael (Milits), Meghan (Colin) and daughter Ivy, Aldona and son Aidas. Raised in Halifax, Don was educated at Acadia University in Wolfville, NS and throughout his life sustained a deep attachment to his alma mater.

He played hockey at Acadia and was captain of the team in 1957.

Don received his commission from the Royal Canadian Navy in 1959 and that same year began a 34-year career in publishing with Prentice Hall, retiring in 1993.

Since then, Don and Aldona enjoyed golfing and winters in Arizona. Aldona would like to thank the staff of St. Peter's Hospital for their care of Don.

Visitation will be on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Dodsworth & Brown Funeral Home, Ancaster, ON. Memorial Service will follow at 12:00 noon.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Don's memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society.
