Glarentzos ChristinaGLARENTZOS, Christina - Passed away on Tuesday, May 21st, 2019.

Christina was born In Vresthena Sparta, oldest of 3 sisters, Maria, Voula and daughter of Eleni Stammatopoulos and Panagiotis Moschoritis.

Moms beautiful mountainous village of Vresthena is located just 20 kilometers from Sparta. Mom had loving parents growing up as child but sadly had seen her mom passed away when she was only 12 years old during the WW2 German occupation of Greece.

Mom was forced to grow up very fast with the support of her aunt, dad and became an instant great leader and supporter for her younger sisters. After the war, mom and her family moved to a large beautiful Greek town named Egion and began to learn the profession of becoming a professional seamstress.

Mom developed great Spartan strength and energy as a young girl and protected her family with great determination and will. Mom developed her strong moral, ethical character early in life, hardworking, honest, truthful, caring, great empathy for the unfortunate, responsible, generous, classy, charming, very straightforward with people, enjoyed life ,very religious with great faith in God and hope in life.

Mom was very poor when she came to Montreal Canada with her now husband George in 1958 to start a new life. Mom became a top professional seamstress in fashion industry and was extremely hard working and top rated in her profession. Mom then moved to Toronto and married her husband George. Mom also did not leave behind her sisters in Greece as she brought Voula and Maria to Canada and did a great job of being a mentor and mother to them. Mom and dad were hard working and developed a family soon after with 2 great loving children in Peter and Evangelia. Mom was always very proud of her children and protected, loved, guided and supported them like no other mother. Mom sacrificed for her family and was able to quickly buy a building on Clinton and continued to buy properties in the future.

Mom played a major in the Greek Community for many years and not only was a committed church goer but also bought a church with relatives, Agia Triatha priest Papazakos. Mom showed her great big heart, love and caring through the church and also supported her sisters in developing their successful new lives in Canada.

Mom proudly watched her children grow up and always watched out for them as adults. Mom always provided her children with words of guidance and encouragement including “may the dirt you touch turn into gold” and always “pray to god to be with you” and will continue to do so in her spirit. Mom’s great love and caring for her husband George throughout their 60 years of marriage will also continue in great spirit.

Mom will be very sorely missed as she played a strong leadership, loving and caring role for so many people in her life. Mom greatly enriched the lives of other people who were fortunate to know her and will always be very lovingly and fondly remembered, respected and honored. Moms loving spirit will remain strong with her family, relatives, friends and the other lives she touched.

Mom….Peter, George, Maria, Voula and Evangelia thank you for so very much and being such a big part of our lives with your boundless love, big heart , loving spirit, strength and compassion . We will continue to honor you mom in life and heaven.

We wish you mom to rest in peace with God who loves you so much. Mom we know your mother and father loved you so much and now you will be very happy to see them in heaven again.

Mom we look forward to seeing you soon with your great spirit, heart of gold and great love so that we can continue to have very happy loving times again. God bless you mom.
