Saunders DorothySAUNDERS, Dorothy (nee MERGELAS)  - Peacefully on Sunday, December 13, 2020, Dorothy Saunders (nee Mergelas) passed away at home, at the age of 95.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 75 years, James, and forever missed by her children Carol (Chris), Paul (Teresa), and Sophie (Lou).

Baba Dorothy (Babs) was such a devoted grandmother to Jamie (Susie), Elaine (Jason), Sasha, Christopher, Jason and Paul, and she was blessed to have great-grandchildren Christopher, Sophia, Andrew and Christian.

Dorothy was born and raised in Toronto, the eldest of five children.

A humble but accomplished pianist, Dorothy graduated from the Royal Conservatory of Music at a very young age. She played the piano with such grace and beauty.

She was an active member of St. Clement of Ohrid Macedonian Orthodox Cathedral and played an integral part in the women's auxiliary in its early days.

Dorothy was a fun loving and kind human being. Young at heart and full of spark, she had a love of fashion and shopping, played a mean game of cards, loved to laugh and enjoyed a good hot dog now and again.

She loved and inspired her entire family in so many ways. Forever in our hearts, we will never forget how she touched each and every one of our lives.

Private funeral service will be held, with private burial to follow.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation or Sick Kids Hospital would be appreciated.
