Jayapathy JayJAYAPATHY, Vallipuram Pasupathy 'Jay' - On Friday December 25, 2020, loving husband of Indranee, father of Dayani, Shiyamini and Dharshana, grandfather of Meghna and Aran, and father-in-law of Nareshkumar and Sarangan, passed away at the age of 73.

Jayapathy was born on January 19, 1947 to Vallipuram Pasupathy and Subatheraiamma Seenikutty in Urumpirai, Sri Lanka.

He studied accountancy and started his career as a clerk at the State Tea Plantation in Colombo.

He then became an accountant at Ceylinco, and a visiting lecturer at Oxonia Institute in Colombo and Cantabia Institute in Jaffna.


In 1996, he migrated to Canada for the betterment of his family where he joined City of Toronto as a Financial and Budget Analyst.

In 1976 he married Indranee from Uduvil. He was a proud father of three daughters to whom he instilled the values of good character and the importance of family. He was a strong advocate for education and played a vital role in his daughters’ academic achievements.

Jayapathy peacefully passed away surrounded by his loving wife and daughters at Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto.
