Behrmann KarlBEHRMANN, Karl Horst   -  February 13, 1934 – February 8, 2021

It is with very heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of this beloved husband, father and grandfather on Monday, February 8, 2021, at the age of 86 years after a brave battle with cancer and dementia.

Predeceased in November 2020 by his loving and devoted wife of 64 years, Beatrice who was his best friend and soulmate.

Cherished father of Derek and Mark Behrmann, both of Toronto.

Proud and loving Opa of Thomas, Lukas and Lily Behrmann.

Also survived by his brother, Klaus Behrmann and his wife, Baerbel of Germany.

Karl was predeceased by his parents, Karl and Hedwig and his only sister, Ute.

Also predeceased by his precious and only daughter, Nicole Behrmann in 2014. Karl was born and raised in Witten, Germany.

In June 1960, Karl set out by boat with his wife, Beatrice to Canada to make a new and better life for them and their future family and he became a proud Canadian citizen in November 1969.

Karl was a dedicated family man and one of his greatest joys came from spending time with his family, especially for special occasions.

The family would like to thank all of the doctors and nurses on the Palliative Care Floor at Sunnybrook Hospital for all of their kindness and care during Karl's time there.

Cremation has taken place. Due to COVID 19 restrictions, a memorial gathering will be held at a later date when we can give Karl the tribute he so very much deserves.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
