SOMMER, Walter - With deep sadness and heavy hearts we announce the passing of Walter Sommer, on February 6, 2021, at the age of 93, after a brief illness.
Walter was happily married to his wife Heidi for 63 years.
He will be sadly and dearly missed by his wife, their daughter Melitta, Opa to his granddaughter Kassandra and grandson Rhys, sisters Irma and Hilda, nephew Rodney, niece Darlene and their families, godson Peter, his friends and all the family in Austria.
Predeceased by his brother Fred in Canada and by his sister and three brothers in Austria.
Walter was a devoted and loving husband, father and Opa to his family.
He dedicated his life to taking care of his family and helping his friends.
Walter's kind, caring, warm and generous nature was recognized by all who knew him. He will be cherished, loved and remembered forever.
Many thanks to the doctors and nurses at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital who took special care of him.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
