Klucznyk AliciaKLUCZNYK, Alicia KayWe celebrate the life of Alicia Klucznyk, who passed away peacefully at Credit Valley Hospital in Mississauga, Thursday February 11, 2021, shortly after her 87th birthday.

Loving Mother of Alicia Markson (Joseph), predeceased by her husband Stanley (2012) and son Mark (2013), proud and dearly loved Baba of Amelia and Julia (Markson) and Riley (Myers).

Affectionately known as Mrs. Kay. She was born Alicia Chiciak in Krakow, Poland and endured WWII era hardships including the loss of her father at a young age.

She put her creative gifts to good use, knitting under her desk during class and selling her creations to help her mother make ends meet. After earning her Masters Degree at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow, she set out on a great adventure, boarding a ship and crossing the ocean to visit her brother in New Jersey. There she met a handsome young man visiting from Toronto. Within a few months, they were married and heading to Canada together.

She secured her dream job as a fashion designer at the high-end Alan Cherry Boutique where she was involved in creating the store’s private label collection. After becoming a full-time mother, she continued to make beautiful clothes for her family and Alicia Jr. always had the best dressed Barbies in town.

She was proudly frugal, living modestly, and saving every penny to invest in real estate. She had a vision for the family home and having studied interior architecture, she drafted the plans for a unique lakefront residence which was enjoyed by the family for decades. She loved living on the lake, sailing, gardening, bargain-hunting, wintering in Florida, and may have had the sweetest sweet tooth of anyone on earth! But most importantly, her love for family knew no bounds. She was a generous, determined, fun and mischievous mother, grandmother and mother-in-law.

Heartfelt thanks to the staff at Wawel Villa Seniors Residence for taking exceptional care of Baba over the last five years and to Luba Romanyshyn for being a loyal and caring companion.

Arrangements entrusted with Ridley funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, kindly consider a donation to Wawel Villa, https://www.canadahelps.org/en/dn/15493.
