ŠTEINS, Oliver Vilnis - (February 8, 1958 – March 16, 2021)
Oliver left this Earth after a lengthy battle with ALS in Cobourg, Ontario.
Beloved husband of Anita (nee Hofmans), and father of Lija (Jackson), Kristina and Aleksandra and adored member of the Port Hope community.
He is survived by his only brother, John Šteins, sister-in-law, Paula Hassard in Dawson City, Yukon and his dear cousin, Aija Thomas, in Melbourne, Australia.
Many thanks to all who supported him through this terrible disease, specifically, the entire community of Port Hope, who demonstrated their unwavering support through donations, fundraisers, visits, and moral support via the Viking Shield community.
Port Hope carried Oliver through the final years of his life with love, support and dignity.
We would also like to thank his NP, Jane Spencer, the PSWs of Saint Elizabeth, the nurses at the Northumberland Hills Hospital, Cobourg, who gave him excellent end of life care, his palliative doctor in Cobourg and his doctor at Sunnybrook.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the ALS Society of Canada. He will be interred at York Cemetery, Toronto.
