Ioi HideyukiIOI, Hideyuki (Hide)   - Hideyuki (Hide) Ioi passed away peacefully, at home on March 20, 2021.

Born on March 19, 1925 in Victoria, BC, Hideyuki was predeceased by his loving wife Penny Ioi.

He is survived by his children Rick, Alan and Don and their wives Kim, Margie and Karen.

He was a loving Papa to David, Kevin, Christian, Emily, Andrew, Michael, Lauren, Braden and partners, and newly arrived great-grandchild Maeve Penny.

He was also looking forward to another upcoming great-granddaughter.

Hideyuki was a true patriarch and dedicated himself to keeping his family connected.

His sons have committed to continuing with their father's legacy.

He was looking forward to a grand reunion with his wife Penny, whom he cherished and adored.

He thought about her and talked to her every day since she passed.

He was a charming man who loved telling stories. He had a remarkable memory until the very end and would often chronicle his past.

He also enjoyed viewing sports and was a handyman who could fix anything.

Hideyuki was a popular, kind, supportive and hard working person who touched the lives of many. He will be dearly missed.

At his request, there will be no service.

If there would have been one, it would have been a celebration of a life well worth recognizing!

Many thanks to all the healthcare workers, staff at Momiji and Reverend Cindy Cooper.

The family suggests donations to Momiji Health Care Society and Bayview United Church.
