GILBERT, Ruby - (1929 - 2021) - Passed away peacefully on Monday, April 26th 2021 at Sunset Manor in Collingwood, at the age of 91.
Predeceased by her loving husband James B. Gilbert (1990).
Cherished mother of Linda (Willy), Beverley, the late William (2010), Debbie (David), and John (Wendy).
Proud grandmother of seven Grandchildren, five Great Grandchildren with a 6th on the way, and one Nephew.
Born in England on September 28, 1929 to Fredrick and Ruby Macklow. At the age of 18, Ruby moved to Canada and met her loving husband James B. Gilbert of Toronto whom she married on New Year's Day (January 1st, 1949).
Ruby certainly led a full and fulfilling life, she received her RNA diploma at the age of 50, held many happy memories from her time spent in Wasaga Beach and Florida, loved arts, crafts and was a talented knitter and sewer, above all, Ruby was lovingly devoted to her family and will be tremendously missed by her family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Ruby’s memory can be made to CNIB or the Alzheimer Society.
Due to Covid-19 government regulations regarding public gatherings, Ruby's funeral service will be held privately. Arrangements and a livestream funeral link are entrusted with Newediuk funeral home.
