SMITH, Margaret Joan - Passed away at her home in Stouffville, on Saturday, May 1, 2021, in her 96th year.
Joan was predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Lloyd Edward Smith.
She will be sadly missed by her children, Lynda Fray (Paul), Fran Baker (John), Arlene McClure (Jim James), Ken (Jodie), Terry (Cindy) and her estranged daughter, Lesley Sulman (Wayne).
Joan was also a loving Grandmother to her 18 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson. Joan was born in Barrie on December 14, 1925, and married Lloyd Smith on September 6, 1947.
Joan's greatest pleasure was being surrounded by children while cottaging on Baptiste Lake.
She was a tireless knitter, creating hundreds of sweaters and mittens each year for numerous charities.
Joan was also an avid baker - she loved to bake pies, cakes and her delicious butter tarts were always enjoyed by her family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate a donation to Children Believe, where Joan sponsored over 40 in-need children from all over the world.
