Shone PeterSHONE, Peter Barry  -

November 8, 1943 - May 1, 2024

It is with great sadness that the family of Peter Barry Shone announces his passing on May 1, 2024, in his hometown of Toronto, Ontario, at the age of 80.

Peter will be fondly remembered for his fun and easy-going style, his kindness and his wonderful sense of humour.

Peter enjoyed a career as a corporate lawyer and was a member of the Phi Kappa Sigma fraternity, where he became an executive in the fraternity's grand chapter.

In his retirement, Peter's passion for warm weather and croquet marked his recreational life, where he spent winters in Florida enjoying time on the courts and the social life that accompanied the sport.

Peter was predeceased by his parents, Joan and Arthur; and his sister, Nancy.

He will be greatly missed by those who knew him, especially by Susan (Ross) Shone, his wife of 57 years; his children, Jennifer, Stephen, Jamie and Kelly; his loving sister, Beverly; and his cherished grandchildren, Madison, Gavin, Rachel, Stella, Sandford and Owen.

The family will host a Visitation at the Kane-Jerrett Funeral Home at 6191 Yonge St. on May 12th, from 2-4 p.m., where Funeral Services will also be held on Monday, May 13th, at 2 p.m., for us to celebrate Peter's life with the people who were most touched by him.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating in memory of Peter to the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation.
