Niles Rudolph RudyNILES, Rudolph Athelston 'Rudy' - Our father, brother, dearest friend and loved one, Rudolph Athelston Niles passed away at home on Thursday, May 20, 2021, called to rest with his parents Marguerite (née Thompson) and Mandeville Niles and his sisters, Elaine Edwards (Sylvester) and Patricia Bryan (Charles).

Rudolph is survived by his three children, Hillary, Kirk and Nicholas, his grandson Luke and by his former spouse and mother of his children, Hyacinth Niles

He is also survived by his sister, Agatha Collins (Orville) and his two brothers, Andrew (Tina) and Roy.

Rudolph or, as he was more often called, “Rudy”, was a loving father who was extremely devoted to his family and friends for whom he would do anything, give anything. Those who knew him loved him not just for his many virtues but also for his many quirks.

Rudy was equally devoted to his career as a millwright. He spent the past 30 years at the same parts manufacturing plant in Markham, Ontario where he will be missed by colleagues and friends he made there over the years. He was proud of his trade and firmly believed in the importance of a good education.

Rudy will be remembered most for his generosity and fondly for his keen sense of fair play, his kindness and for the hospitality with which he treated everyone who came into his home. His constant, loyal and supportive presence will be greatly missed in the days, months and years to come.

The Niles’ family would like to express its deep thanks to all who have extended their sympathies and support during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to consider making a donation in memory of Rudolph A. Niles to the Black Business Professionals’ Association Scholarship Fund - Specialty Scholarship for Skilled Trades. https://bbpa.org/bbpa-scholarships/

Arrangements entrusted with Kane-Jerrett funeral home. Due to current restrictions, a private service to celebrate his life will be held on June 3rd at 10:30 a.m. If you would like to receive information about joining the livestreaming or viewing the service for 30 days following the service, you may contact the family for the link or leave your contact information with the funeral home to forward to the family.
