Cumming JenCUMMING, Jennifer May 'Jen' - Jen passed away peacefully at age 42 on Thursday May 20th, 2021 at her home.

Jen is lovingly remembered by her mom, Nancy (nee Cochrane), her dad, Harry (Liz), her brother, Geoff, her grandmother, Madeleine, Jim (Bonnie) Cochrane, Jim (Janet) Cumming, Cathy (Jean) Dansereau, Geoff (Anna) Cumming, Josephine (Walter) Gifford and many much-loved cousins.

Jen’s caring, kindness and generosity could only be outdone by her modesty, understated elegance, intellect and smart wit.

Jen enjoyed a fulfilling career as teacher, Curriculum Coordinator and Principal at St. Clements Early Learning School. The nurturing and education of all young children was her passion and her life.

During the course of Jen’s career, she developed a special place in her heart for those children who had to overcome many more obstacles than their peers. With funds from the Elizabeth Rose Herman Bursary Fund which provides resources, Jen loved how the added support for special needs impacted the child and their families.

Jen treasured her time at the family cottage on Balsam Lake where she relaxed with her Kobo, enjoyed gourmet cooking, boat rides and most of all – loved the “Cocktails and Sunsets” ritual on the deck with her ‘second’ family, Jim, Bonnie, Cynthia, Scott, Lindsay, Jordan, Lily, Amy, Robby, Ben & Mauve. Jen was very close to her longtime friends, Erin, Nat & Tasha. They are always there for each other, sharing so many memories, travels, adventure, weekends at the cottage, laughter and sometimes tears.

The family is truly blessed and appreciate all the love and support from family and friends and during the past several days. Many thanks to Marsha, all the Staff, Parents and children at SCELC who have gone above and beyond to honour Jen’s memory and continue her legacy.

Arrangements are entrusted with Kane-Jerrett funeral home.  There will be no service at this time. When it is safe for people to gather, we will have a Celebration of Life.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation can be made in Jen’s name to The Elizabeth Rose Herman Bursary Fund to carry on Jen’s legacy. Link: https://www.scels.ca/donate/
