Potts JohnPOTTS, John Douglas - It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Doug Potts, loving Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather on June 21, 2021 at the age of 88.

Doug was born in Bobcaygeon to Roy and Augusta Potts where he grew up in the family home along with his older brother Stan. Doug was a graduate of the very first class of Ryerson Polytechnical Institution, Radio and Television Engineers.

Doug enjoyed a long career in the television and movie industry, traveling in his mobile truck including filming the Winter Olympics in Alberta, raising his hand when the call came for a cameraman who could film while on skies. Doug also worked on well known TV productions such as King of Kensington and the Tommy Hunter Show.

He met the love of his life Liz Humphrey, a young nursing student in Blenheim, ON. They married in Chatham ON, and spent 65 happy years together. Doug and Liz raised four children in Malton, ON.

When the kids grew older, Doug and Liz ventured out and made a home on a small hobby farm in Tottenham. Doug enjoyed small projects such as making maple syrup and raising hens. Doug and Liz made sure their busy careers did not stop them from enjoying multiple family vacations. Outdoor camping and skiing trips where plentiful. They had a reputation of hosting many entertaining house parties with their large circle of close friends.
