GARCIA, Candinho da Silva - It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Candinho da Silva Garcia on June 24, 2021 in Etobicoke, Ontario, at the age of 94.
Candinho was born on May 9, 1927 in Candelaria, Pico, Azores.
Beloved husband of 68 years to Maria Augusta. Loving father to Maria (Eric), Regina, Albina, Alberto, Elizabeth and Freddy (Jane).
Cherished grandfather of Tania, Shelby, Chantel (Mark), Megan, Jordan (Tanya), Lauren, Dylan, Madison, Hayley (Jonathan), Zack (Rachel) and Jake (predeceased 2009). Great Grandfather of Justin, Liam, Jadyn, Jake, Jax, Lily, Lucas, William, Evie and Joey. Dear father-in-law of Frank Bettencourt (predeceased 2014).
Albina, we all want to extend our deepest gratitude for your commitment and devotion, throughout the years, for taking care of Daddy (Papa). From the countless appointments and errands up until his last days, we all witnessed that special bond the two of you shared that gave him the strength to keep fighting. You will forever be his “Amiga das Estrelas."
A heartfelt thanks to Sol Colacci, “his Amigo," for the many years of love and support. Special thanks to all the staff at the Dorothy Ley Hospice in Etobicoke for the compassion and wonderful care they provided.
In lieu of flowers donations to the Dorothy Ley Hospice would be appreciated by the family.
Due to COVID-19, private Funeral Mass and burial will be held for the immediate family. Arrangements entrusted with Scott funeral home, Mississauga chapel.
