Rowan JeanROWAN, Jean Currie (Bain) "MUMZIE" - Jean passed away on the evening of Friday July 2, 2021 at the age of 81 years.

She will be remembered as full of love, abundantly kind and infinitely determined by family, friends and everyone she met along the way.

Her positive spirit, good-fun attitude and energy was second to none. Neither were her academic accolades nor her athletic abilities, but Jean was humble, patient and a true teacher of character.

Jean is survived by Thomas and their children Kirsty (Brian), Shona (Michelle), her granddaughter Kathleen and god daughter Roslyn (Kevin).

Also by her sister (Bet), treasured nieces and nephews Hazel (Lenny) their children Calum and Kelsey (Joe-their children Carter and Jorge), Claire (and son Jack-John) and Johnny (Shirley).

Additionally, by the friends-to-family relationships she established when Jean and Thomas immigrated to Canada with the MacLean's (John, Ellen, Gillian, Gail, Ellen (Graeme), Johnnie, Alison and Roslyn) and Saarvala's (Beverly, Alex, Eric and Jody).

Jean's friendship ring expanded over the decades of her life and her travels. She will be greatly missed by her life-long school friends in Scotland, Germany, USA, all those she met in Canada as a secretary and retail clerk (Eatons, The Bay, especially the "Markham Dream Team" at Sears) and by the past and present congregation at her beloved spiritual home, St. Mark's Presbyterian Church.

Jean just loved everyone and was adored and admired by all.

I shall pass through this world but once.

Any good that I can do, or any kindness that I can show
to any human being, let me do it now.

Let me not deter or neglect it for I shall not pass this way again.
Author unknown.

Scheduled Visitation (July 8th) and Funeral Service (July 9th) in memory of Jean, will be held at Heritage Funeral Centre, East York, with Rev. Daniel Cho officiating.

Those who so desire may make memorial donations in memory of Jean, can do so to the Indian Residential Schools Society.
