Love WilliamLOVE, William Gerald "Jerry"   - It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Jerry on Wednesday, July 21, 2021, peacefully at his home in Mississauga, that he loved so much.

He was 89 years, and was courageous and charming until the very end.

Jerry will be dearly missed by his beloved wife of 59 years, Beth, son, David (Suesie), daughter, Dianna (Michael), as well as his four granddaughters that he adored, Emily, Katey, Lauren, and Sydnie.

He was known to impart his wisdom and idioms on family and friends. Jerry was a dedicated family man, as well as an active member of the community in Mississauga.

His career as Director of Recreation with the City of Mississauga, which spanned 35 years, was one of his most proud accomplishments, in particular the number of parks and community centres he oversaw during his career.

Jerry graduated from the University of Toronto, and received his Bachelor in Physical Health and Education. Jerry loved all sports, especially playing handball. He was an avid Blue Jays fan.

He enjoyed attending Spring Training for many years while vacationing in Florida. Mississauga Day with the Blue Jays was another proud initiative of Jerry's with proceeds from ticket sales going to the Jerry Love Children's Fund, which provides financial assistance to children in Mississauga to participate in recreational activities. He was so proud of the JLCF.

Jerry was inducted in to the Mississauga Sports Hall of Fame as a Builder in 1991.

Thank you to the Acclaim care team for their comfort and support during this difficult time.

Cremation has already taken place.

A private service will occur at a later date.

Please consider a donation to the Jerry Love Children's Fund, Toronto Star Fresh Air Fund, Sunnybrook, or Heart & Stroke.
