SKLAVOS, Christos - Much beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Christos Sklavos passed away on August 5, 2021 at the amazing age of 103 years old.
Born in May 1918 in Sklaveika, Messinia, Greece, he fought in and survived both World War II and the ensuing civil war.
He married his wonderful wife (the late Georgia) and had three beautiful daughters.
They emigrated to Canada in 1956 and became fiercely proud Canadians.
He will be missed by many, many people, but especially by his daughters, Sia (Dimitri), Vaso (Andrew), and Nitsa (John), his grandchildren Sophia (Claudio), John (Claire), Effie (George), Dennis, Vagelitsa (Dave), and Dimitri (Megan), his great-grandchildren Lucas, Zoe, John, and Lily, his sisters Nicoletta (Strato), Dimitra (the late Dimitri), his brother Efthimios (Gianoula), and his sister-in-law Anna (the late Vasili).
Christos was very well loved by all who knew him and will be remembered most fondly by his many nieces, nephews, extended family, and numerous friends.
Christos was a happy soul who always had a smile on his face and a joke to share. He loved feeding his family and friends, and his barbecuing skills were legendary. His biggest joy came from being with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whose antics never failed to bring out his hearty laughter.
Visitation will be held at Heritage Funeral Centre, Toronto on Tuesday, August 10, 2021. The funeral service for Christos will be private, as will the interment. On behalf of the family, we would kindly ask that you respect the privacy of the funeral and burial.
