SCHENKEL, John Patrick Charles   -  Pat passed away peacefully in the early morning hours on August 3, 2021, at Joseph Brant Hospital, Burlington, shortly after celebrating his 90th birthday.

He was the devoted and beloved husband of Elsie for 69 years, cherished father of David, Susan and her husband John Davidson, beloved grandfather of Michael Davidson and wife Rina, Matthew Davidson and partner Mila Gavrusenko, and James Delaney-Schenkel, and recently became the proud great-grandfather of baby Theo.

Pat was born in Lancaster, England, and immigrated to Canada with his family in 1963, eventually retiring as the owner of his own business.

He will be sadly missed by his cousin Jacqueline Jolly and her family, cousins Michael (Katherine) Green and Barrie (Irene) Peel, and his many friends from the Toronto Live Steamers.

The family would like to thank the staff at Sunrise of Burlington for their compassionate care for the last year and a half, as well as the staff of Joseph Brant Hospital ER and 5N.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday August 14th at the Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, Oakville. Visitation from 12 noon until the service begins at 2 p.m. We regret that due to Covid restrictions, attendance at the service will be by invitation only.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Joseph Brant Hospital Foundation or a charity of your choice.
