Reck VictorRECK, Victor Harold  - In loving memory of Victor Harold Reck - (1940 – 2021) - who passed away peacefully on August 12, 2021.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Reck and his children; Vic Reck Jr., Kim Reck, Christine Thomas (Tony), and Lee-Ann Reck-Barbosa (Jack); Grandchildren; Shelby and Annalise Reck; Alexis Brianne Reck Thomas; Tyler, Connor, and Kiara Thomas; Beth and Jamie Barbosa and great granddaughter, Teagan Hall Thomas; siblings Rosemarie Norris, Bill Reck (Carol), Don Reck and Joe (Marilyn,) Darlene Thorne (Wayne).

Vic was predeceased by his parents Elsie and Fred Reck and his siblings Marilyn, Fred, Joan, and Diane.

Vic was born in Toronto and was raised in the Lakeview/Port Credit Area where he met his wife, Carol, who would become his wife, mother of his children and soul mate of 58 years. As the ravages of dementia distorted his perceptions, Vic frequently commented that he loved Carol more than anything in the world and frequently proposed marriage over the last year with the promises of a beautiful ring and a spectacular wedding. Vic loved Carol passionately until the end, and although the disease caused confusion about who was who, he frequently asked about all of his children and grandchildren.

Many would not take Vic as a passionate man but his passion for his family, building a fantastic life for them, supporting them in sport and DIYing around his home were his number one priorities.

Vic spent 32 years as a dedicated employee of Ontario Hydro and in his retirement focused his spare time playing Old Timers hockey with the Port Credit Ol’ Sailors.

Vic will be sorely missed by all those who had the pleasure of his love and friendship.

Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted with Skinner and Middlebrook funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Alzheimer’s Society of Peel.

Rest in Peace Po’.
