Milosh JohnMILOSH, John William - It is with profound and lasting sadness that the family of John William Milosh (Mary Elspeth Lougheed Milosh, Julia Elisabeth Milosh and Michael James Milosh) announces his passing after a lengthy illness.

John was cherished by family and friends for his love of music and theatre, which brought much beauty into our lives. John spent his life dedicated to music.

As a graduate of the Faculty of Music at the University of Toronto, he went on to be Head of Music at Weston Collegiate Institute, followed by York Memorial Collegiate Institute.

He was also a deeply committed member of the Trinity Chamber Ensemble and the Artemis String Quartet in Toronto for many years.

In retirement, he served as a violinist in the Georgian Bay Symphony and in the Scarborough Philharmonic Orchestra, and he taught privately in Toronto and Owen Sound. John’s extensive knowledge made his career rich and endlessly interesting. He is a great loss to us all.

A private funeral service will be held, followed by interment.

We extend our gratitude to the doctors and nurses at North York General Hospital for their commitment and compassion.  We also thank the team of PSWs who cared for John over the course of his illness.

In lieu of flowers, donations in John’s memory may be made to the Freeman Centre for Palliative Care at North York General Hospital.
