IATAN, Alexandra 'Alex' Rodica - Alexandra Rodica Iatan (Vernescu) was born May 3rd, 1939 in Bucharest to Lucia and Constantin Vernescu. She passed away on September 28th, 2021 at Elginwood Long Term Care.
Alex was the eldest of 4 siblings and spent many years working as an architecture technician. She was married in Bucharest on September 7th, 1968 to Alexandru “Sandu” Iatan and she gave birth to her son, Claudio, in 1971. Alex was predeceased by her first husband on August 8th, 1973.
In 1987 she moved to Canada where she created a new life for herself and her son. She met Robert Nash and married again. She was predeceased by her second husband on March 10th, 2015.
In addition to her parents and both husbands, Alex was preceded in death by her brother Serban.
Alex touched many people’s lives both in Canada and her birth country of Romania. Those she left behind are her loving son Claudio (Cindy); brothers Dan (Mariana) and Mihai (Tania); nephew Phoenix “Cosi”; nieces Roxana (Cary) and Corina (Jake); and grandchildren; Jaxon and Ryder; along with a few close friends.
Her family would like to thank all of the caring staff at Elginwood for making the last few years of her life comfortable.
