It is with great sadness that the family of Robert James (Jim) Madge announce his passing on Wednesday, September 29, 2021, in his 87th year.

Jim was predeceased by his parents, Clive and Beatrice, and his sister Dorothy. He will be dearly missed by his wife of 54 years Claire, sons Jeffrey (Terri-Lynn), Trevor (Heather) and Andrew (Inez), and grandsons, David, Theo, and Henry.

He will also be missed by his sisters and brothers-in-law Lois (Vianney, deceased), Andrea (Dominico), Guy (Linda, deceased) and Jocelyne (John, deceased) as well as his numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and acquaintances.

Born and raised in Windsor, Ontario, Jim studied Law at Osgoode Hall in Toronto, after graduating from Victoria College (UofT).

Upon being called to the bar he worked as a solicitor for Canadian Pacific Limited for 34 years, having previously worked in the CP railyards each summer as a student from the age of 16.

Jim will be remembered for his dedication to his family and friends, his generosity and calmness, his love of reading, his sense of humour, being a great storyteller, and his tenacity in practicing law.

A private funeral service will take place on Sunday, October 10th.

Jim was a great lover of animals.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Jim's memory may be directed to the Toronto Zoo Wildlife Conservancy.
