Etherington MarionELTHERINGTON, Marion - Passed away peacefully at home on October 6, 2021 in her 91st year.

Beloved wife of Don for nearly 70 years.

Loving mom to John (Janet), Brad (Holly), Rob (Vicky) and Lynn (Trevor).

Special Nana to Mary Beth (Terry), Kim (Jonathan), Aaron (Erin), Megan, Haley, Jake, Daniel, Reid, Grace, Emily, and Elizabeth.

Wonderful great-grandmother to Beau, Jack, Edan, Colt, Brad, Ryder, Duke, Hudson, Quinn, and Phoenix.

Marion lived a life filled with love. She went out of her way to make everyone feel special, and strangers quickly became friends. No one was immune to the power of her homemade chocolate chip cookies, her gentle touch, her quick smile and her delightful sense of humour. She was one of those rare, special people that touched the lives of all who knew her.

Marion spent many volunteer years as secretary of the Greater Toronto Women’s Bowling Association, earning her a spot in the Toronto Bowling Hall of Fame. She founded the family committee at TDA long term care home, and her tireless and innovative work with aphasia residents there led to a Confederation medal for “significant contribution to compatriots, community and to Canada”.
Remarkable achievements from a remarkable woman.

Visitation at McDougall & Brown Funeral Home, Toronto, Ontario on Friday, October 15 from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 pm. Private funeral will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Precious Minds Support Services or Hospital for Sick Children are appreciated.

“I met a man today who didn’t have a smile – I gave him one.”.
