Tubic NikolaTUBIĆ, Nikola - Nikola Tubić, age 82 passed away peacefully at his son’s home in Vancouver, Canada on Tuesday, October 12, 2021.

Born on August 27, 1939 in Čusto Brdo a small village within the municipality of Maglaj, Bosnia and Herzegovina to Petar and Mitra Tubic.

Nikola (also known as Nick) was a loving and devoted husband to his wife Dušanka (nee Lukic) for 58 years, and a loving and proud Dad to his son Goran, daughter, Suzana (nee Tubic) and daughter-in-law, Sheila Tubic (nee Hunter) and son-in-law, Timothy Garey.

His grandchildren, Georgina, Ella, and Ava were his ultimate joys. He loved his family more than anything in this world; nothing ever came before his family and friends.

He is also survived by his brother and sisters, Žarko (Bosnia), Darinka (U.S.A), Mara (Germany), Radojka (Bosnia), Ruža (Germany).

Nikola and Dusanka immigrated to Toronto, Ontario in 1971 with the dreams and aspirations of a better life for their family. He immediately wanted to integrate and adapt to the Canadian way of life by enrolling in English as a second language. He started working in various different jobs before starting his long tenured career as a foreman for many city projects with LiUNA Local 183.

Nikola was an avid sports fan and loved watching hockey, cheering on the Toronto Maple Leafs and European soccer. He enjoyed discussing politics and current events with friends and strangers. He was always excited to meet new people and never a stranger to lend a helping hand.

Nikola lived a very full and active life, loving travel, specifically to his home country to see family and friends. One of his daily joys was to walk his dogs throughout High Park and experience nature in the city. During his retirement, Nikola was passionate about helping his Serbian community, specifically volunteering weekly at the All Serbian Saints Church in Mississauga.

He is loved and missed so very much for his sense of humour, his kindness and love. He will be dearly missed by his extended family and Kumovi and many friends who will miss his welcoming smile, laugh, and warm embrace.

Arrangements are entrusted with Scott Funeral Home Mississauga Chapel.  Interment will take place at Glen Oaks Memorial Gardens, Oakville, Ontario.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the All Serbian Saints Orthodox Church 2520 Dixie Road, Mississauga, ON, L4Y 2A5. Donations in the name of Nikola Tubic.
