RUDMAN, Shirley Anne (nee MARTIN)   - January 21, 1936 – October 25, 2021

It is with sadness that we say goodbye to our beloved mother, Shirley Anne Rudman, after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's.

She joins our father, Gerry, the love of her life to whom she was married 59 years.

She is survived by: children, Martin, Mitchell (Susan), Christine (David); as well as 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Our mother was a humble woman who cherished being a mother and grandmother.

She created artful costumes on her favourite holiday - Halloween, and delighted in the children giving her a challenge. She had a heart for ecology and would search for milkweed plants so her children could witness the magic of a caterpillar transforming into a butterfly.

She loved the amusing frivolousness of astrology; she loved to play bingo and cards. She made a fudge that would make your teeth sing. She took up the piano in her fifties and became quite proficient.

The truth is, we lost most of our mother when Dad passed.

They were crazy about each other and were two peas in a pod.

While we grieve the loss of the matriarch of our family, we acknowledge Alzheimer's is a grim and unrelenting disease.

There is great peace knowing she is at rest.
