HILL, Verne William - Verne William Hill, age 92, passed away on Tuesday, December 14, 2021.
Beloved husband of Mary for 65 years.
Father to David, Peter (Marilyn), Steven (deceased 2008) (Monica) and Susan.
Grandfather to Emma, Adrian, Samantha (partner David Twigger), Jessica, Jacob (partner Ryan Siciliano), Andrew (partner Emma Rousseau), Julia, Shawn and Shannon. Great-grandfather to Avery William and Sutton Verne.
He will be missed by many more family and friends.
Verne was an active member at St. Peter's Anglican Church for over 60 years and during his working years had a position with Ontario Hydro for over 40 years.
Singing was a big part of his life. As a barbershop singer he was active in St. Peter's Choral and Scarborough Gilbert and Sullivan Societies for many years as well as Serenata Singers later on.
He headlined at the Pine Lake concert hall for many summer mornings during his morning swim serenading the lake to renditions of "Oh What a Beautiful Morning" and "It's a Lovely Day Today" that many lake residents now know by heart.
Arrangements are entrusted with Jerrett Funeral Homes, Scarborough.
In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, donations may be made in Verne's memory to a charity of your choice.
