McGrath McGRATH, Anne Smith Munro  -  On December 30, 2023, Anne left the party.

She was always the first to arrive and the last to leave.

Over the past years, she saw many of her friends and family leave before her.

With 30 years in a wheelchair as a result of a stroke, at almost 97 she chose to keep dancing in her heart.

A few years earlier with only her right side operational she joined a gym-always hopeful and determined.

Right up to her last weeks she was still trying to figure out how she could go back to driving a car.

She is mourned by Daughter Debra McGrath, (Colin Mochrie) Son Craig McGrath (Jacquie), Granddaughters Kinley and Kelsey, Grandson Connor,

Special Buddy Cheryl Stenson and everyone who knew her.

We also want to thank Dr. Papia, Dr. Ott and everyone at Chester Village who loved her and are mourning with us.

As her family and dearest friends, we choose not to remember her in the past but to represent her at the party, still feeling her presence, hearing her contagious laugh and dancing in her shoes. Although they are big shoes to fill, she has in her way, taught us all the secret of life. With every breath, she lived more fully.

As a dear friend said, she just ran out of breath. We are comforted by the fact that, if she would leave us the day before the party that is New Year's Eve, she must have really needed to go.

A funeral service will be held at Glebe Road United Church, 20 Glebe Road East, Toronto, on Saturday, January 13th at 11:00 a.m. Reception and interment to follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Toronto Star Santa Claus Fund would be appreciated.
