SCOTT, John Paul   -  Died peacefully on December 30, 2023, at age 74, after a brief illness and having fought Parkinson's disease as well as mental health and addiction challenges for 25 years.

Paul is survived by his children, Patrick, Louise and Alice; and his former partner, Wendy.

He will be remembered fondly by a number of close friends.

Born in Apsley, Ontario, to John and Doreen (née Edwards), and a graduate of York University, Paul spent his adult life in Toronto as a highly regarded civil servant.

Notably, he worked on the foundation of the Employment Equity Commission, and later oversaw Y2K preparations for the Government of Ontario.

While Paul's later years involved some struggles, his family remain incredibly grateful that he survived his afflictions to meet his daughter-in-law, Corrie; son-in-law, Charles; and his four grandchildren, Jack, Margaret, Declan and Maisie.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Those wishing to make a donation can contribute to The 519 Community Centre or the Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson's research.
