Abbott EdnaABBOTT, Edna Kathleen  -

November 23, 1924 - January 19, 2024 Toronto, Ontario, Canada It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, in her 100th year.

She was predeceased by her husband, Len, of 56 years; her parents, Bertie and Lillian Collins; and her brother, Geoff.

She is survived by her daughter, Louise (Philip); and her son, Andrew (Michelle).

She will be greatly missed by her five grandchildren, Aidan, Charlotte, William, Caelan and Olivia; and her great-granddaughter, Franki.

Edna will be fondly remembered by her extended family and friends in Canada, the United States, South Africa, and her birthplace, England.

Born in London, she often recounted her experiences living through the Blitz of 1940.

In 1972, she started a new life in Canada, leaving behind her family and friends but finding a new family on Catalina.

Ever the adventurer, Edna moved to San Diego to open the 'Princess of Wales Pub.' After an extremely successful 10 years, Edna and Len moved back to Stouffville, Canada, becoming active members of the Lemonville United Church.

She spent her final years at Presentation Manor close to her children and her grandchildren. Her grace, comforting soul and warmth will help us to live on through the sadness of this loss.

A Celebration of Life will be held in May 2024.

In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in her memory to a Charity of Your Choice.
