MORKEL, Elizabeth Anna Johanna (nee STEENKAMP) - Our dearest and best Mom passed away peacefully, on January 31, 2024, in her 95th year.
Sadly, missed by her children: Jenny (Richard Wethers), Nicholas (Catherine), Mary Anne (Howard Hurley), William and Peter. Loving Ouma of Elizabeth Wethers and Sarah Hurley.
Predeceased by her eldest child, Isaac (2005); and her husband, Henry (2012).
Also missed by many nieces, nephews, and friends. Born in Cape Town, South Africa, Elizabeth was the longest surviving of Nicholas and Johanna
Steenkamp's seven children. Special thanks to EMS, Lakeridge Health Oshawa, and the nursing team for caring for our mom. A special thanks to Dinah Manangquil, who cared lovingly for our mother.
Visitation will be held from 7-9 p.m. on Thursday, February 8th, at McDougall & Brown Funeral Home, 2900 Kingston Rd., Toronto, 416- 267-4656.
A service of Praise and Thanksgiving to God for Elizabeth's life will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 9th, in the Chapel at McDougall & Brown.
