McBride JohjnMcBRIDE, John Francis  - It is with saddened hearts the family announces John's passing on February 17, 2018 in his 90th year.

Cherished husband and best friend of Mary.

Loving dad to Michael (Anne) and Joanne (Ryan).

John was very proud of his 5 grandchildren and their achievements. Kaiya, Sean, Presley, Madelynne and Nakoa will sorely miss him.

Dear brother to siblings Rita and Denis (Helen) and predeceased by sisters Catherine and Mary. Twenty years ago John received a lifesaving heart transplant.

His family will be eternally grateful for this special and miraculous gift.

We will never forget the courage and generosity of the unknown donor and family whom John prayed for daily. Our sincere thanks and appreciation to the Cardiac team at Toronto General Hospital, especially Dr. Heather Ross, Stella and Anna.

Also a special thank you to Dr. R. J. Cusimano who gave John an extra 20 years.

Friends may call at Turner & Porter Butler Chapel, 4933 Dundas St. W., on Tuesday from 6-9 p.m. Funeral Mass to be held at Nativity of Our Lord Church, 480 Rathburn Rd., on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at 11 a.m.

For those who wish, donations in John's memory can be made to the Toronto General Hospital, Heart Transplant Research Fund c/o Dr. Heather Ross.
