IRWIN, Doris Elizabeth ("Betty") (nee ABBOTT)  - On Monday, March 12, 2018, surrounded by family.

Betty passed away peacefully at The Salvation Army's Isabel and Arthur Meighen Manor in her 100th year.

Betty was the beloved wife of the late Harold and a loving and supportive mother to Elizabeth and Bruce Watson and Susan Irwin.

Grandmother Betty to Jon Watson and Lilian Lukezic, and Jennifer and Justin Williams. Proud Great-Grandma to Jake and Cole Williams. Betty was previously deceased by her parents Llewellyn and Hannah Abbott, her twin sister Peggy and her sister-in-law Ethel. She will be sadly missed by her sister-in-law Jean (Edwin), her nieces Anne (Peter), Mary and Robin (Dave) and her great-nephews Duncan, Jo and Will.

Betty worked for a number of years at the Parliament Buildings for the Teacher's Superannuation Commission before leaving to devote herself to marriage and family. She was a longtime parishioner of St. Leonard's Anglican Church, serving for many years as Choir Mother to the Junior Choir and was a long servinig member of the Keewatin Group, contributing countless hours to quilting and baking for numerous events.

The family particularly wishes to thank all of the staff at Meighen Manor for the loving and gentle manner in which they took care of our mother for the last five months of her life.

A private family funeral service was held. A service of remembrance at St. Leonard's Church will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Leonard's Church, The Salvation Army, or a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
