Nesbitt JamesNESBITT, James E.A. "Jim"  - On March 9, 2018, Jim Nesbitt passed away peacefully with his 'lady friend', Edith Cody, by his side.

He will be lovingly remembered by his son, Barry Nesbitt and his daughter, Mona (Wayne) Turner and his grandchildren, Maeve and Colin Turner.

He was predeceased by his loving wife, Beryl and his brother John (Jack) Nesbitt. He will be sadly missed by his nieces Kathy (Rod) Linn and Lauren (Rich) Baggerman, along with members of Edith's family: Lora, Barry, Blair and Rance Vigneux and Betty and Johan Wigt. Longtime friends who knew him as 'Neb' or 'Nebby' in his various Bridge groups in Toronto, Mississauga and Newmarket, will deeply miss his friendship and sense of humour.

Throughout his 60 years living in Newmarket, Jim was passionately involved in the community.

He held administrative roles on various Boards: Public School Board, Public Library Board, Junior Chamber of Commerce, Trinity United Church, ProBus, Food Pantry and William Roe Condo Board. He received the Citizen of the Year Award in 2015.

He was an avid player of golf, curling and hockey and he enjoyed sailing and swimming. His grandchildren will always remember his crazy dive! He was a passionate consumer of nearly any sport on T.V. Playing bridge and cribbage were his hobbies.

The family is grateful for the compassion and loving care that was shown to their father and grandfather by the nurses and other staff at Newmarket's Margaret Bahen Hospice.

A memorial reception will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 1 p.m. at Trinity United Church (Main Street and Park Avenue, Newmarket). The program will begin at 1:30 p.m. Enter Trinity United Church in Newmarket off Park Avenue.
