CARAVAGGIE, Margaret Rose  - Passed away peacefully on May 21, 2018 from complications of PSP, an aggressive form of Parkinson's Disease.

Margie was many things to many people. Daughter. Sister. Aunt. Niece. Cousin. Friend. Colleague. Teacher. Mentor.

She was also a warrior to her last breath and is now at rest, welcomed by her parents, Joseph and Dorothy Caravaggie. Her infectious laugh and fun-loving spirit will always be remembered by her devoted sisters, Ann Bednarski (Bob) and Kathy Haller (Jim), her forever grateful nieces and nephew Lisa Bednarski, Robbie Bednarski (Michelle), Katie Reynolds (Darrin) and Angie Hewick (Geoff), great-nephews and nieces, aunts, uncle, cousins too numerous to mention and lifelong friends from her Birthday Group and Gourmet Club.

For five years Margie battled a disease she did not deserve; however what she gave to others in life she got in return from so many who visited her, took her on special outings and celebrated her milestones. An educator to the core Margie began her career as a teacher with the Peterborough Catholic School Board and held progressive positions with the Ottawa and Toronto Catholic School Boards (formerly Metro Separate).

In retirement she served as Executive Director of the Ontario Catholic Supervisory Officers Association before turning her attention to Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Toronto as Director and volunteer with many of its charities.

A memorial Mass will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Church (520 Sherbourne St., Toronto) at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 30th. A reception will follow in the church hall. An interment at Little Lake Cemetery in Peterborough will be held at a later date.

The family would like to thank the staff and personal care workers at Baycrest Centre and Humber River Hospital who comforted and cared for her in her final days.

In lieu of flowers, the family gratefully requests donations be made to Covenant House or Parkinson Canada in Margie's name.
