Ancuta WalterANCUTA, Walter  -  After a long illness, Wally finally passed away on April 4, 2024.

He was Penny's (Weddle) husband of 50 years, father to Nicholas (Jennifer) and Natasha, big brother to Lydia (Shadoff) and grandpa to the apples of his eye, his grandchildren, Aly and Charlie.

His family would like to thank his many caregivers over that time.

Wally had a long, distinguished career in several fields, completing an Engineering degree from University of Toronto, and a law degree from Osgoode Hall in 1962, passing the Ontario bar in 1964, working as lawyer for several blue-chip firms like the Royal Bank of Canada, where he was one of their first corporate lawyers heading their legal department, to later on consulting for Enroute and finally working in the real estate field.

Not just a prominent lawyer, Wally was also a distinguished chef, an active sportsman, a squash ace, a down-hill skier, a back-woods fisherman, a tennis fan, a lover of jazz, a backyard swimmer with his grandchildren, and an avid dog walker.

Wally always had a twinkle in his eye, a joie de vivre, a strong intellect, and a sneaky dry sense of humour, often making others laugh even if his situation was no laughing matter.

For all of these qualities, and for being a great husband/father/brother, he will be dearly missed.
