RIX, Paul John - It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our father, Paul John Rix on April 27, 2024, at the tender age of 91 years.
Predeceased by his loving parents, Effan and Mercedes.
Loved father of 3 children, Len (predeceased), Laura (Carl) and John (Mary).
A devoted "Grandpa" to his 7 grandchildren, Matthew (Tara), Mary-Beth, Sarah (Dan), Kathleen (Phill), Kristina (James), Len (Taylor) and Cole.
"Big Papa" will be greatly missed by his 15 great-grandchildren, Matthew, Mikayla, Joshua, Hailey, Adrian, Noah, Lincoln, Derek, Nicholas, Ashton, Kaylen, Emery, Michael, Brooke, and Davis.
Adored and loved brother of 11 siblings, Norma (Danny), Margaret (Gord), Mike (Irene), Marie (Frank), Audrey (Reg), Eileen, Howard, Laurie Gerrard, John, Gordon (Doris), Joyce (Ed).
Never forgotten brother-in-law to Eleanor (Ed), Marilyn (Fred) and Trevor (Dorothy).
Paul was a dedicated employee of the Toronto Star Newspaper and enjoyed his long career there for 40 years.
He was keen at the opportunity of joining the Star Union, whereupon he was one of their first members.
Retired in 1995, he was then able to really enjoy his love of the racetrack, casino, bowling, and invest more time with his family.
A Celebration of Paul's Life will be held at a later date.
