Glesta JosephGLESTA, Joseph Roger  - October 31, 1928 - March 15, 2018

Peacefully at the Village of Tansley Woods in Burlington in his 90th year.

Beloved husband of Velma (nee Mercer) for 63 years.

Loving father of Paul Glesta and his wife Anita and Kim MacEachran and her husband David.

Cherished grandfather of Erica and her husband Mike, Zev, Joseph, Connor and great-grandfather of Charlie Jane.

Joseph was born in Przewaly, Poland to Jozef Glista and Marianna (nee Szymczak). The family immigrated to Henribourg, Saskatchewan in 1929. Joseph spent his years growing up in Toronto and Port Credit with his brothers Henry, Ted and Norman.

His adult years were spent enjoying his family and community in Oakville. He later went on to become President of Maris Transport in Oakville and E&L Transport in Dearborn, Michigan. Joseph was a Past Master of Claude M. Kent Lodge in Oakville and served as an active member of both the Oakville Shrine and Rotary clubs.

Family will receive friends at the Ward Funeral Home, Oakville, on Monday, March 19th from 2:00 – 4:00 and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at St. Jude's Anglican Church, 160 William St., Oakville, on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada on Joseph's behalf.
