Smith PeggySMITH, Peggy Anne (nee HOTSON)  - January 14, 1943 – May 5, 2018

Peggy Anne passed away on Saturday, May 5, 2018, after a battle with cancer.

In the last two weeks she was surrounded by her family who supported her in her fight.

She is survived by her loving husband, Robert (Bob), with whom she enjoyed almost 52 years of a very happy marriage filled with travel, tennis, bridge, theatre, family and friends.

They enjoyed over 20 years of retirement, which they endeavoured to fill with many travel experiences. Their love and relationship were an inspiration to everyone who knew them. Peggy was an avid reader, who also liked the challenge of crosswords, particularly cryptic.

She loved her family so much – her daughter, Sara (William) and her son, Sean (Jennifer), her grandchildren, Daniel, Alex and Katherine, as well as her close sisters, Wendy (Tom) and Jane (Brian) and her niece, Lisa (Al) and nephews, David (Laura), John (Natalie) and Michael (Randi) and seven grandnieces and grandnephews.

She truly looked forward to family gatherings, which were filled with fun, laughter, good food and wine.

She made many close friends during those years and maintained contact with special students whom she had taught. At Peggy's request there will be no funeral, but there will be family memorial following the cremation.

The family is also planning a Celebration of Life for later in the spring for her friends to say goodbye.

Please consider recognizing Peggy's amazing life by donating to the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre or Plan Canada.
